What is low voltage wiring? Low voltage is the wiring for audio, video, telephone, computer network, security cameras, alarm systems and generally anything using 24 volts or less. Often we get asked about the advantages of a hard wired home versus a wireless home. The best answer is a hard wired home is less prone to drop outs and outside interference. Generally when asked to pre-wire a home we will do a walkthrough to help us develop a job estimate. Most pre-wiring that we do is for whole house audio and video distribution plus satellite, security cameras and network data lines.

In most, if not all cases, we run all of the cables back to a low voltage panel located in a closet, storage room or garage. Having this low voltage panel makes it very easy to distribute any signal of the wiring source to any location throughout the home.
